Implicit Finite Element Method (FEM)
Implicit formulation of the finite element method (fem). Divides a domain into elements to solve PDEs for stress, heat, and fields.
This is the implicit variant of the Finite Element Method (FEM). FEM approximates a continuous field with piecewise basis functions over a mesh, assembling a large sparse system that is solved for nodal values. It is the workhorse of structural, thermal, and electromagnetic analysis.
