PageRank for a road network

Simulate a road network live in your browser. This runs the real PageRank solver — adjust the inputs, watch it respond instantly, and export the result. No install, no account.

PageRank ranks nodes by importance: a page is important if important pages link to it. It is computed by imagining a random surfer who follows links with probability d and jumps randomly otherwise, then finding where they spend the most time. This eigenvector of the link matrix launched Google and now ranks everything from proteins to social influence.

Governing equation

Reading this result: PageRank is the stationary distribution of a random surfer who follows links with probability d and teleports to a random page with probability 1−d. At d=0.85 link structure dominates but teleport still keeps every node reachable.

About this simulation

The full PageRank tool models a road network with the same numerics engineers and scientists use — running entirely client-side. Change any parameter and the result updates in real time, so you can build intuition, check a design, or teach the concept without spreadsheets or installs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I simulate a road network?
Open this page and use the live PageRank tool below — set your inputs and the simulation runs instantly in your browser using real numerics. No install, no account needed.
Is it free?
Yes. The simulation runs free in your browser. A one-time unlock or a Pro plan adds advanced parameters, saved presets, data import, and clean exports.
Can I use my own numbers?
Absolutely — every input is adjustable, and with data import you can drive a road network from your own measurements.
